We started producing tea in March 2017. We have supplied our products to market since October 20, 2017. We were looking for the Armenian tea packed in iron boxes to send them to our friends living abroad. We wanted to find delicious and natural tea from Armenian herbs and berries packed initially in attractive boxes. However, we did not find such souvenir teas and decided to create the first Armenian Souvenir Teas ourselves. We also intended to develop employment opportunities in border villages of the Republic of Armenia by procuring raw materials from Tavush and Syunik regions. We produced 4 types of mixed teas in 2017.
The first collection is named "Tatik-Papik". It contains mint and thyme, which calms the nerves, increases the skin regenerative properties.
The second collection is named "Yeraz". It contains leaves of raspberries, cherries, and cherry fruits. It is delicious and possesses antipyretic activity. It should be noted that this collection is produced only by our company.
The third collection is named "Walk". It contains mint, prunes, rosehip. It is a mixture of vitamins, hence boosts immunity.
The fourth collection is named "Kiss". It contains lime flowers, peach, lemon. An exciting story about lime flowers made us look for lime-tree in Armenia. According to ancient Greek tradition, goddess Aphrodite gifted a lime tree to women. The aromatic drink made from lime flowers emphasized female attractiveness. However, not all women could afford to use lime flowers. Now we want to make lime flowers available for the women who appreciate and strive for beauty. It took us a long time to design our tea boxes. We aimed to present Armenian art on tea boxes․ We applied to Armen Vahramyan, a kind and devoted artist, with a request to picture his magnificent works on boxes. We tried to contribute to the popularization of Armenian art. I am sure we succeeded in it since many people interested in artist's works are now calling us to buy his works.
First, we planned to produce tea for the local market. However, currently our tea is in demand in Russia, Kazakhstan, France, Italy, Canada, and the United States as our foreign customers also buy tea as a souvenir. Today Nazan can be ordered online from all over the world. In 2018, we launched a new "Armenian Tea Revival" project and resumed tea production per the recipes offered by Amirdovlat Amasiatsi, a 15th-century Armenian doctor. These recipes are kept in Matenadaran. Nazan resumed 2 types of tea ''Ararat'' /Melissa lemon/ and "Family" /Pine needles, mint/. Nazan company was declared the winner of many CIS country projects in the International Social Entrepreneurship Forum held on February 20-23, 2019.
