Armenian Wine

Armenia's warm climate ensures the sweet taste of grapes, from which high-quality sweet wines can be made. Armenia is the leading country in the region in terms of wine production. Wines produced in Armenia are particularly notable for their high alcohol content.

The cultivation of grapes has been developed in the Armenian highlands since ancient times. According to the well-known biblical story, Armenia is the homeland of viticulture and winemaking. The biblical legend tells that mankind discovered the taste of wine when Noah the Patriarch planted the first vine at the foot of Mount Ararat after the flood.

According to the Bible, the secret of making wine from grapes was revealed to Noah by Noah's goat, which, after eating the wild fruits of the grapes, started to scare the other animals.
